The Government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Regency plans to build a shelter for elderly people.

Head of PPPA HST Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Social Service H. Yusuf said the construction of the shelter as an effort to support the HST Regent's policy towards the elderly.

"We are committed to improving social services in HST, including for the elderly who do not have families anymore who really need attention and special needs," said Yusuf.

Regent H A Chairansyah when visiting nursing home Tresna Werdha Banjarbaru, Tuesday (8/13) said, to love elderly, including those who are residents of Tresna Werdha is a shared social responsibility.

"It should be done from a heart that sincerely serves elderly people with special needs," he said.

The Regent handed over 14 parcel packages to the elderly residents of the Panti Werdha from HST. He also came to mourn one of the elderly from HST who died by the name of Hj Siti Hadijah, who is a resident of Jalan Bintara Barabai.

The Regent's visit turned out to create a distinct impression for the residents and caretakers of the nursing home, including Ms. Yati, who was assigned daily to serve 110 elderly residents along with other officers.

"After working for many years, this is the first time a regional head has visited here, we are very proud," said Yati, who is a technical implementing unit (UPTD) officer at the Tresna Werdha Banjarbaru.

As a form of excitement over the visit of Chairansyah, one of the elderly, Adnan, demonstrated his excellent ability to have a percolation even in old age.

"Traveling to Kota Baru, don't forget to buy a blue scarf, if you fall in love with me, don't hesitate to say I Love You,"

"Handkerchief has a for corder, one of which is eaten by fire, wounds in my hands could be bandaged, but wounds in the heart is brought to death," said Adnan.

According to the Head of the Tresna Werdha Banjarbaru, H Surya, the presence of the HST Regent in the middle of the elderly was very meaningful. They feel they have received special attention, their spirit of life seems to grow again.

"This indicates that Regent H Chairansyah is very concerned with the elderly," said the echelon III official of the South Kalimantan Provincial Social Affairs Agency while hoping to increase the attention of all stakeholders towards the nursing home.
