South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani and his wife applauded South Kalimantan divers who participated in breaking the world record in Manado, North Sulawesi, Saturday (3/8).
"I am very appreciative and proud of the ability of the South Kalimantan Regional Police Divers Team to take part in this grand 'event'," said the Police Chief.
Together with his wife, the Chairwoman of Bhayangkari South Kalimantan Rinny Yazid Fanani, the Police Chief was present in the waters of the Megamas, Manado, which became the location of the activity.
According to the Police Chief, being a reliable diver is not easy. It takes hard training and perseverance. Especially to breaking world records. Of course it is a matter of pride.
"Even those who did the dives this time were the Policewomen and Bhayangkari, what a remarkable achievement and a proud history of the Police," said the two-star police general.
The Guinness World Record set at the Indonesian Women's Diving Organization (WASI) was three records at once, namely the Longest Human Chains Underwater where hundreds of divers joined hands uninterruptedly for more than 7 minutes in the blue sea.
Then the Most People Scuba Diving record and the Largest Unfurled Flag Underwater.
As many as 3,100 divers participated in the event to enliven the 74th Indonesian Independence Day, including the Chairwoman of the Indonesian Female Divers (WASI) Tri Tito Karnavian who was also the initiator.
