KM Pieces fishing boat departing from Pekalongan with 37 passengers was reported on fire and sank in the waters of Matasiri, Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan.
Head Resources Section of the Banjarmasin National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Endrow Sasmita here said on Friday, the incident was only discovered by Basarnas on Wednesday (7/31) 2019 around 16:00 from the KM Bintang Mas Delima fishing boat which found the victim floating on waters.
According to him, it was initially discovered that the ship sank, after the KM Bintang Mas Delima crew found four victims, two people died and two
survived.

Seeing the victim, KM Bintang Mas Delima ship crew reported the incident to Basarnas.
On August 1, 2019, the rescue team recovered other two deaths.
The 26 meter long and 8 meter wide ship initially sailed from Pekalongan to the Makassar.
At present, six of the victims found were in KM Rezeki Utama.
Not yet known the cause of the sinking of the ship. The SAR team is conducting a search on the scene.
