The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a high-wave early warning that maritime people who sail on the Java Sea must watch out for.


"The potential for high waves of more than 2.5 meters in the Java sea waters will occur in the next two days," said the Forecaster Staff of Meteorology Station Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin at BMKG Purwo Aji Setiawan in Banjarbaru, Sunday.

To be aware of the high waves on Monday (7/15) to Tuesday (7/16), fishing boats and barges and ferries are reminded to continue to monitor the natural conditions and information issued by the BMKG at any time.

"Check BMKG information regarding weather early warning in order to anticipate the occurrence of undesirable things. Update our information at https://stamet.syamsudinnoor.bmkg.go.id or @cuacakalsel Instagram social media and Twitter cuacakalsel_bmkg," Purwo Aji explained.



 As for the details of the western Java Sea wave forecast, namely the East-Southeast wind direction 10-20 knots with waves 1.25 to 2.5 meters.

Then the eastern Java Sea, East-Southeast winds 8-25 knots and waves 1.25 to 2.5 meters.

Furthermore, the central Java sea, the East-Southeast wind is 10-20 knots with a wave height of 1 to 2 meters.

Whereas Kotabaru waters, southwest southeast wind 3-20 knots with wave height 0.25 to 1.25 meters.

"For fishermen and small and medium vessels, the safe limit of waves is below 2 meters with wind speeds below 15 knots," said Purwo Aji.
