The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Office of Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) conducted Communication, Information, Education (IEC) and integrated operations in Tanjung and Murung Pudak Markets, Tabalong District.


Head of BPOM HSU Bambang Hery Purwanto said a cracker was found to contain Rhodamin B. "One positive sample uses dangerous ingredients Rhodamin B or synthetic dyes on crackers," he pointed out.

The cracker contained dangerous ingredients was found at the Batuah Market in Tanjung.

In this operation 34 samples from Tanjung Market consisted of crackers, syrup, gelatin, brown sugar, pentol, pastries, snacks, salted fish, and cassava pudding.

The remaining 7 samples from Murungpundak Market include crackers, meatball, cenil cakes, syrup and bingka barandam. 

Furthermore, cracker trader who was found selling Non-Qualified samples (TMS) were given the first warning letter by the Head of BPOM HSU.

"We have conveyed a warning letter so that he will no longer sell food that contain synthetic dyes," explained Bambang.
