Nam Air opened a new daily domestic Solo-Banjarmasin route to meet the high market demand.


"We are intentionally opening this route nearing the Idul Fitri 2019 homecoming season," Manager of Sriwijaya Air Branch Office of Surakarta Fredy J De Hart said on Tuesday.

He hopes the new flight route can meet the needs of people who want to go home more quickly. It also hopes that the route can develop the regional economy.

In addition, he said, the route is quite potential to attract Umrah markets from Banjarmasin through Solo.

"It turned out that there were many Banjarmasin people who wanted to take an Umrah pilgrimage through Solo. It was one of the considerations we opened the route," he said.

The route, effective from May 28, 2019, uses ATR 72-600 aircraft with a capacity of 70 seats. The Banjarmasin-Solo ticket price is Rp1.8 million, while Solo-Banjarmasin is Rp1.2 million. Ticket prices include airport tax and 10 kg extra baggage.

"This flight serves every day from Solo at 15.40 WIB and arrives in Banjarmasin at 18.25 WITA. Then, from Banjarmasin depart at 14.25 WITA and arrive at Solo at 15:05 WIB," he said.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Adi Soemarmo Surakarta Airport Abdullah Usman said that so far Banjarmasin was a golden route that attracted many passengers from Solo and to Solo.

"From our data, the level of filling for Solo-Banjarmasin is quite high, reaching 80 percent," he said.
