PT Pelni Branch in Batulicin transported around 518 passengers who travel home (mudik) for Idul Fitri 1440 Hijriah holidays from Samudra Harbor, Batulicin, to Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya.


Head of the Batulicin Branch Porwadi here on Monday said, 518 travelers to Surabaya were transported by KM Willis that day at 10:30.

"We will end the voyage for the mudik transportation for Batulicin-Surabaya on May 29 using KM Binaiya at 20:00," he said.

KM Binaiya has a capacity of about 692 people, but the tickets already sold out currently to reach 1,400 at a price of Rp201,000.

Especially for homecoming (mudik tradition), PT Pelni received a policy of increasing the number of passengers to around 681 people from the Director General of Sea Transportation.

Overall, the number of travelers served by PT Pelni on May 27 and 29 for Surabaya reached 1,918 passengers.

"At this time we have not served passenger ticket sales for Surabaya, because the ship's capacity is full, not to mention later there will be additional passengers who transit to Samudra Batulicin Port from Makassar Port," he said.

In order passenger to be well served, the management also increased the number of meals for passengers to around 681 servings.

"Still in the fasting month, the passengers who carry out fasting worship only get two meals, one at predawn and the other when breaking fast," he said.

However, for those who do not fast or non-Muslims, they still get a ration of three meals a day, he explained.
