Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalsel) sets a target of 10 thousand children for a circumcision it will hold as its social service on the Bhayangkara anniversary on Juli 1, 2019.


Head of Medical and Health Agency (Kabid Dokkes) Sr Comr Police dr. Erwinn Zainul Hakim here on Thursday said, mass circumcision for children living around the South Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters is intended for 3 thousand to 5 thousand children.

The rest will be held in each sector police (polres) in 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan, with a target of at least 500 children each.

"13 existing polres times 500 children equal 6,500 plus Regional Police, we hope a total of approximately 10,000 children can participate in the mass circumcision," Erwinn told the Antara News Agency.

About the funding, Erwinn said, among others, came from the assistance of a number of CSRs as well as full support from the Bhayangkara Hospital of Hugeng Imam Santoso Banjarmasin.
"As for the polres, we will supply medicines and everything needed, thus these activities can be carried out properly," he said.

The plan, the program will begin to be held in the holy month of Ramadan or in May 2019.

In addition, added Erwinn, the South Kalimantan Regional Police was appointed by the National Police Medical and Health Center (Pusdokkes) to carry out cleft lip surgery.

The National Police in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Reconstruction and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Perapi) targets each designated Polda can operate at least 20 cleft lip patients.
