Sahbirin hopes that all posyandu cadres will continue to work optimally and give the best role to serve the community.
Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan tried to re-empower integrated health post (posyandu) to prevent stunting or the inhibition of physical growth of children under two years.

Governor H. Sahbirin Noor here said on Friday that posyandu was an effective means to improve public health services.

They are, he said, in direct contact with the community, especially as a means of maternal and child health services, so it is very important to be empowered to reach the rural and remote areas.

Posyandu, he pointed out, has a major contribution in achieving national and regional development goals, including in stunting prevention.

Until 2018, the number of posyandu in the province has reached 3,925 compared to 2016, which was only 3,796 posyandu.

Sahbirin hopes that all posyandu cadres will continue to work optimally and give the best role to serve the community.

Previously, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government held a Posyandu Jamboree to encourage the acceleration of regional health development.

Head of the Health Office H M Muslim said, this jamboree was carried out to improve the knowledge and skills of cadres who provide services at the posyandu. In addition, it was a place to exchange information and experiences between cadres.

In this activity, the Governor of South Kalimantan and his staff affixed the signature as a commitment to the Convergence of the Acceleration of Stunting Prevention (KP2S) and South Kalimantan Towards Zero Waste.
