Marabahan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Government of Barito Kuala (Batola) commemorated the 2019 National Waste Care Day (HPSN) at the landfill site in Tabing Rimbah Village, Mandastana Subdistrict on Friday (1/3).
The activity involved various elements of society and a number of environmental care associations, including the Ijejela Bahalap Green Community Forum (FKH), Adiwiyata school, Environmental Care Students, Children's Forum, Saka Kalpataru, Orari, BPK, Balakar, women's organizations, traders to janitors.
The commemoration was marked by the planting of green trees, the submission of environmentally friendly tubes, the exchange of 1,000 tumblers, a declaration of support and the signing of the adiwiyata program by the regent, deputy regent, members of Forkopimda and a number of SKPD (government agencies) heads.
All were invited by the Regent Hj Noormiliyani to review the final waste disposal (TPA) which has been innovated into an environmentally friendly area. Its condition looks shady, beautiful, not dirty and does not smell bad. But it likes the odor of a garden equipped with a fish pond.
Uniquely, in the Tabing Rimbah landfill, there are sights from electric materials, household appliances and others made of plastic and glass such as used bicycles, televisions, cabinets so that they further support beauty.
At the landfill site, there is also waste management, such as waste recycling equipment to be used as compost and fertilizer, with workers coming from the janitors themselves.
The Regent said, according to the vision and mission of Batola to Build a Village, Organize Cities Towards Prosperous Communities, her government is committed to implementing sustainable and equitable development that not only concerns economic, social, cultural, but also an equitable environment for present and future generations.
