Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Some members of the Banjarmasin City Forum Komunitas Hijau (FKH) or Green Community Forum educated junior and elementary school students in Barito Kuala (Batola) about environmental conservation.
Their presence was on the invitation of the local district government to fill the National Waste Care Day commemoration at the site of the final garbage disposal of Tebing Rimbah Village, said FKH member Zany Thalux on Saturday.
After the peak event, FKH members provided environmental education to students at the location, while officials and other guests conducted a review of the supposedly best landfill in South Kalimantan.
About two hundred students follow environmental education. As a resource person, Uncle Anum explained that students are a generation of gold for the environment.
Students are invited to become friends of nature. Nature friends don't throw litter, especially plastic waste, don't throw garbage into the river, don't burn the land. Nature friends maintain trees, plant trees, and do preservation.
FKH Banjarmasin also invited Batola students to start reducing plastic waste by carrying a tumbler as a place to drink.
