"Thank God we can do something for the environment at the moment of the National Waste Care Day," said Head of the Tanah Bumbu Satpolairud Adj Comr (AKP) Parman S.Sos, MM, Thursday.
Previously the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani through the Tanah Bumbu Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Kus Subiyantoro ordered his staff to clean the environment in their area.
Satpolairud also invited a number of elements of society and youth organizations as well as the Association of Indonesian Fisheries Counseling (Ipkani) Tanah Bumbu to jointly clean the coastal area.
The element of Kusan Hilir Subdistrict, Pagatan Rayon Military Command (Koramil), Kusan Hilir Sub-District Police also went down in the action initiated by the Satpolairud.
They collected various non-organic wastes, such as bottles of mineral water, snacks, and the like, which reached 1.5 tons. While organic waste, such as wood, coconut stems, durian skin, some types of leaves are approximately 2 tons. There are also glass fragments of about 30 kilograms.
"We request that the relevant agencies prepare trash cans along the coast in three villages. Also the active role of village officials to carry out routine socialization so as not to repeat the habit of residents throwing litter," concluded Parman.
