Penang Island (Antara News) - The preacher and chairman of the Sentul Bogor Majelis Az-Zikra KH Muhammad Arifin Ilham and his entourage left the Malaysian state of Penang to return to Indonesia on Thursday morning.


The group departed by car from the place where they were resting at George Town's Mansion One Apartment at 07.30 local time to the Penang Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Airport, Ministry of Transportation of Malaysia.

They did not go to Penang International Airport because they did not use commercial airplanes but hitched private jets belonging to a businessman whose identity is still kept as secret.

The entourage of KH Muhammad Arifin Ilham was 11 people consisting of three wives, a daughter from the second wife, three nephews and a number of assistants, including Ustadz Mohamad Abdul Syukur.

The plane took off from the DCA of Penang Island at 09.00 local times and was scheduled to arrive at Halim Perdana Kusumah Airport in Jakarta at 10:00.

Like ordinary days, on Thursday morning KH Muhammad Arifin Ilham and his four companions took time to pray at dawn in the congregation at the Al-Munawar Jamik Mosque on Jalan George Town.

A Palestinian, one of the mosque congregation prayer, gave him a miniature memento of the mosque's dome to Ustadz Arifin Ilham.

Accompanying him Liason Police Officer Comr Danu Agus Purnomo and local staff Andre from the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang.
