"Most of those who get the disease are children aged 5-14 years," said the Head of Disease Prevention and Control in the Health Agency Salahuddin here, Monday (28/1).

According to him, the most cases of dengue were found in Haruyan Subdistrict with 24 sufferers.

Last year, DHF attacked 186 patients in the HST district and most were found in Barabai Subdistrict, 52 cases.

"Just this January we have conducted 40 foggings and socialization continues to be carried out to the community to intensify the community movement (Germas) for clean living and the eradication of mosquito nests (PSN)," he said.

He explained, eradicating mosquito nests and socializing the eradication of DHF is not only the duty of health workers or the government, but is the duty of the entire community to clean their respective environments.

"Data shows 90 percent of dengue disease can be prevented by simple activities, do not need large funds or difficult programs, just clean up so that mosquitoes do not breed," he said.

Even if there are additional needs such as logistic larvasida (abate) or jumantik (mosquito larvae monitoring officer) cadre, that is just a specific additional program to further enrich the activities.
