Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The troops of the RI-Malaysia Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) of Infantry Battalion 621 Manuntung who made many achievements in their duty were welcomed with pride in their return.


"Alhamdulillah, we all should be grateful and proud that the operational task was completed properly and all soldiers returned with a healthy condition," said South Kalimantan Military (area of) 101 Antasari Commander Col. Inf Yudianto Putrajaya on Wednesday.

The Danrem (commander) led the direct reception of 350 soldiers who departed from Nunukan, North Kalimantan, using KRI Teluk Manado (537) until arriving at Trisakti Port Banjarmasin on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Putra, the task of securing state borders is an honor. Moreover, to make achievements, it will certainly be doubled.

"Immediately conduct an evaluation and consolidation of both individuals and units to continue to be professional soldiers in the Korem 101 Antasari region," Putra emphasized.

While the Commander of the RI-Malaysia Border Security Task Force in Nunukan Lt. Col. Inf. Rio Neswan admitted that for 10 months he served many challenges faced by his troops.

But one of the things that boast the most, he said, was that they could penetrate or found Indonesian state boundaries that have not been patrolled for 30 years.

"The field was very difficult to reach, but thanks to internal planning and the support of the Korem and Kodam, the stakes have been penetrated. Recorded there were 4,087 stakes that we patrolled to ensure conditions were maintained," said the 621 Manuntung Infantry Battalion Commander.

The main task carried out by the task force to secure the border of the country is to prevent smuggling of prohibited goods from entering Indonesia and vice versa.

Recorded since their duty in October 2017 to August 2018, various prohibited items were confiscated from smuggling attempts by border crossers.

Among them are 40 sower-type home-made firearms, 1 traditionally home-made firearm, 2 spirtus home-made firearms, 9 pig bombs, 79 cubic of illegal wood and 3,526 Kg of illegal meat and 11,779 bottles of liquor. In addition, the Task Force also deported 2,632 people and 4 illegal foreigners.

The most prominent case was they successfully uncovered and thwarted the smuggle of sabu-sabu weighing 1,074.95 grams from Tawao, Malaysia, on 3 June 2018.

The arrival of soldiers who based in the City of Barabai, Central Hulu Sungai, was immediately welcomed by family members.

A number of officials were also present to welcome their arrival in Trisakti, including Assistant II for Economic and Development Affairs, South Kalimantan Administration Hermansyah Manaf representing Governor H Sahbirin Noor, Chairperson of South Kalimantan DPRD's Commission III Supian HK, Banjarmasin Naval Base Commander Marine Colonel (P) Wijayanto and Kaden B Pioneer of South Kalimantan Police Mobile Brigade AKBP Ahmad Arif Sofyan.
