Batulicin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tanah Bumbu Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Kus Subiyantoro declared the water overflowing the provincial highway in Satui Subdistrict during the rain does not affect the traffic flow of Batulicin-Banjarmasin.
"In the last few days the rain intensity in Tanah Bumbu is very high, so lowland such as highways have the potential to be passed and inundated, but it does not last long. So it does not affect the activity of road users," said police chief on Sunday.
He explained that the water overflow during the rainy season occured because of trenches on the roadside are not able to accommodate the flow of water, then the water came into the highway. But it only lasted in no longer than one hour and two-wheeled or four wheeled vehicles still can pass through.
In order for road users to feel secure, the police and the Tanah Bumbu Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) provide direct supervision in the field to ensure road conditions can be passed.
He urges road users to stay cautious while passing through. Even though the situation looks safe, but if the rider is negligent when passing unwanted things may happen.
"The last monitoring reported to us by the (police) members in the field, the condition of the road is now no water overflow so that it can be sure the road is safe," said chief of police.
The overflow conditions in the location have become a routine during the rainy season, so the local government and related agencies have discussed the solution for in the future does not occur during the rainy season.
"The local government has done the discussion, so the Public Works Agency will budget for the bridge or culvert in order overflow during the rainy season does not happen again." Head of the Tanah Bumbu BPBD Abdul Rahim said.
