HST survives flood

Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The high rainfall last November caused a number of districts in Banua Anam (six districts) to experience flooding. Water inundates agricultural lands and urban areas. However, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) has escaped from the flood.

"Alhamdulillah now our area survived the floods although rainfall in Central Hulu Sungai (HST) is quite high and every year always flooded," said Acting Head of Disaster Mitigation Agency Ali Fahmi, Friday (1/12), in Barabai.

According to him, since the Regent of HST H Abdul Latif, the problem of the flood is seriously handled and become a priority program to overcome some flood-prone areas.

"Anticipation of the flood is one of them to repair drainage in Barabai which is still ongoing," he said.

In addition, Ali Fahmi told, a precautionary measure has been done by exposing contingency documents of disaster flood by the compiling plan team.

In the contingency documents, he said, already composed of various programs ranging from disaster, evacuation, rescue, to post-disaster recovery.

"We have also formed a coordination team with TNI and Polri, SAR, Tagana, Balakar 654 Murakata, Scouts, Orari, Rapi, Satpol PP and others," he said.
