Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 30/3 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarbaru administration is setting up 20 freights to serve students at no charge. This fleet traverse schools in accordance specified routes.


"We have prepared a fleet of transport for students by changing official cars Carry types and given sticker, so that students and the public know them," said Mayor Nadjmi Adhani in Banjarbaru, Thursday.

He said the provision of free school transport to help parents, so do not bother dropping off their children to school every morning and after school during the day.

In addition it is to prevent children from riding private vehicles to school for endangering their safety as well as other road users.

"We want to help parents in addition to the safety and security of students, so they are no longer riding motorcycles (for school)," he said.

According to him, free student transportation fleet operations is scheduled to be officially launched to coincide the 18th anniversary of Banjarbaru on 20 April 2017.

"The fleet is already prepared and planned to start trial on early April," he said.

In the early stages there are eight routes for the fleet with 18 schools to be crossed by and all students are expected to be transported.

The entire fleet should only be transporting students starting at 6:30 am before school hours and after school from 14.00.
