Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 2/12 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) along with Agriculture and Food Crops Agency exploring the possibility of cooperation and the use of multiple products PT Petrokimia Gresik (PKG).
Member of Commission II DPRD on economics and finance H Suripno Sumas told that on Friday, after accompanying a visit to the PKG in East Java.
"In our visit to the PKG it turns that the state owned company engaged in agricultural production not only fertilizer, but it also includes other products," he said to AntaranewsKalsel.
PKG also providing seeds of rice, corn and soybeans, as well as pest and plant diseases insecticide, which are all certified.
"They (the company management) expressed readiness to meet the needs of South Kalimantan," he said.
While South Kalimantan now develops featured food crops, namely rice, maize, soybean, onion and red chili.
"We're Commission II which is also in charge of agriculture in principle would provide moral support, such as in the case of the budget provision for farming in here," he added.
"Moreover, the 2016-2021 South Kalimantan Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) and 25 years Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) will rely on agriculture toward agro-industrial development," said Suripno.
