Regent Kotabaru Ha Sayed Jafar on Saturday said the road would concreted is from Simpang Tiga towards Tarjun ferry ports along 4.8 kilometers.
"The company that are ready to do concretisation is cement industry PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa (ITP) Tarjun Tbk and cooking oil industry PT Smart," he said.
Roads along a 4.8 km with a width of ??about 12 meters is located in the area of land use permit (HGB) of PT ITP Tbk Tarjun since 1996.
Improvement begins from Simpang Tiga PT ITP to Simpang Tiga PT Smart, and the rest from Simpang Tiga PT Smart to the Tarjun ferry ports will be continued by a shipping company who operating ferry crossings Kotabaru-Tarjun, PT Pelayaran Benua Raya Khatulistiwa.
Besides concreting the road, which is now still in the form of a stone path, companies involved in road improvements are also ready to provide street lighting using solar cell.
Involving the private sector to make improvements to the public road is part of a program of corporate social responsibility (CSR) from the cement industry, oil industry and shipping companies.
The concreting roads from Simpang Tiga PT ITP to port of ferry is expected to encourage the smooth flow of transport for goods and services in Kotabaru and the surrounding areas.
