West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has tasked official heads in the provincial government with overseeing the assistance and logistics needs in the 12 sub-districts impacted by the earthquake in Cianjur.
"They must ensure that all the needs and supplies of assistance reach the residents. Today, I have decided that every sub-district should have an official who (oversees the aid distribution)," Kamil remarked here on Thursday.
The governor has ordered the province's regional secretary, Setiawan Wangsaatmaja, to manage the on-field implementation.

"Hence, one sub-district in Cianjur will have two officials, led by the office head, for taking care of all the residents' needs in the 12 affected sub-districts," he added.
Meanwhile, Kamil pointed out that the West Java Provincial Government had spent Rp2 billion on logistical needs for earthquake victims at evacuation camps.
"This morning, we spent Rp2 billion to buy necessities for the evacuation site," he stated.
His side has also prepared a budget for unexpected expenditure (BTT) of Rp20 billion, in addition to the president's directive to provide Rp50 million for the reconstruction of heavily damaged structures, Rp25 million for moderately damaged structures, and Rp10 million for minorly damaged buildings.
Furthermore, the provincial government will cover all victims' medical expenses.

"All (the medical) bills are free and paid by the West Java provincial government. The victims are already struggling, their wealth buried in their collapsed house, and they are still being asked for payment," he stated.
He emphasized that all hospital associations were not allowed to charge treatment costs from the victims, and Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, had also witnessed this commitment.
"Now, it is clear that all hospital associations should not charge the victims. Bill it to the regional government with proof of the bill," the governor stated.
