Labuan Bajo, NTT (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has urged creative economy players in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province to carry out digital transformation through the 2022 Baparekraf Digital Innovation Lab (BEDIL) Program.
"Digital transformation has become a necessity. Hence, we implement the BEDIL program to provide assistance in supporting digital transformation at super-priority tourism destinations," he stated in his virtual remarks at the launch of the 2022 BEDIL Program here on Thursday.
The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is striving to strengthen the Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises’ (MSMEs’) digital economy since digital transformation can increase revenue five times faster than conventional methods, he added.
At least 3.7 million business units have been digitized since the recent launch of Affirmative Action of National Movement for Proud Indonesian-made Products (Gernas BBI) by President Joko Widodo.

The minister informed that the figure exceeded the target of 2 million business units. Currently, there are 11.7 million MSMEs that have been digitized. The number is expected to keep increasing to meet the government's target of 30 million MSMEs by the end of 2023.
The BEDIL program will focus on providing mentoring and training related to business fundamentals, digital transformation, and digital business management, Uno said.
He expressed the hope that the participants would be able to increase their income by promoting their products through existing digital channels, such as social media and e-commerce.

The ministry has launched the BEDIL program to expedite the process of digitizing the products and services of creative economy actors by 2022.
Following the launch of the program, participants from three creative economy sub-sectors in NTT province, including crafts, performance art, and music, will take part in a two-week online and offline mentoring.
