Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri or State Vocational High School 2 Simpang Empat, Tanah Bumbu, now cooperating with Sekolah Indonesia Kota Kinabalu (SIKK) in Sabah Malaysia to provide free education.


"The cooperation with educational institution of our neighbour Malaysia aims to build a good partnership between SIKK Sabah Malaysia and SMKN 2 Simpang Empat, "said Principal of SMKN 2 Simpang Empat Ribut Giyono in Batulicin Sunday.

A total of 10 students from SIKK came to SMKN 2 to continue their education. They are sons and dughters of Indonesian citizen who have been living in Malaysia working as Indonesian migrant workers (TKI).

"All students who come from SIKK to continue study in SMKN 2 Simpang Empat are newly graduated from junior high school in SIKK," he said.

He said this cooperation is the first. While the cost to life and school supplies needed by all 10 students will be covered by the SMKN 2 Simpang Empat.

SIKK Sabah Malaysia principal Supeno Siad expressed gratitude and said this cooperation which is outlined in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be ongoing.

SMKN 2 Simpang Empat plans in the future to provide free education to students from SIKK Sabah Malaysia to continue their education in Polytechnic Batulicin (Polibali) college.

"We expect this cooperation could score reliable human resources, skillful and can create new jobs," said Ribut Giyono.
