Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) bestowed an award to the government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) as the district had exceeded the target of response rate in the population census held online.
The award was submitted by the South Kalimantan BPS head Moh Edy Makhmud to the Regent HA Chairansyah, Monday (Sept 7, 2020). He was accompanied by Head of BPS Administration Edy Rahmadi and Head of HST BPS Eddy Erwan Nopianoor.
According to the records of the BPS, 54.1 million Indonesians registered for the population census, which was conducted online from 15 February 2020 to 29 May 2020.
"This number is very large because it is equivalent to almost twice as much as Australia's population. It is a very encouraging achievement, bearing in mind that this is the first population census conducted online in Indonesia,” said the head of BPS Suhariyanto, as the September 2020 Population Census kicked off online in Jakarta on Monday.
Suhariyanto also lauded all parties and communities who contributed to the success of the online population census.
Meanwhile, Eddy Erwan Nopianoor, after the handover of the award, introduced Akhmad Mudzakkir, as his successor. He said goodbye because he will be serving in Barito Kuala District.
Regent HA Chairansyah on behalf of the government and the people of HST expressed his gratitude to Eddy for carrying out his duty well for the HST community.
"Thank you for your professional work and to having served the people of HST well," he said.
Akhmad Mudzakkir, who previously served in Tanah Bumbu, hoped for the support of the HST government as well as community participation in the continued population census on September 1 to 15. Citizens are asked to fill in their own data with the form submitted by the census officers.
