S Kalimantan's Library features Faisal Oddang in story writing class

Story writing class featuring Faisal Oddang to be held on Monday (August 3, 2020) in a virtual talk show from Banjarbaru.

Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan Library and Archive Office to feature a famous writer Faisal Oddang in a story writing class through a virtual talk show.

Faisal wrote novels and hundreds of short stories and poems. He received the 2014 ASEAN Young Writers Award from the Thai government and was named as the 2015 Tempo Art Figure in the field of prose.

Head of the office Nurliani in a press release received by Antara in Banjarbaru on Friday said, the class will be held on Monday (August 3, 2020) at 10.00 WIB (West Indonesia Time) or at 11.00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time) or 12.00 WIT (East Indonesia Time).

"Online registration has been opened since Wednesday and so far 373 participants have registered. For who have not yet registered, please do before we close on Sunday at 16.00 WITA," she said.

According to Mother Nunung, Nurliani's nickname, the story writing class is to provide opportunities to participants who like to write and want to learn to write fiction, both short stories and novels.

The training focuses on writing stories, covering basic techniques of story creation, such as opening sentences and paragraphs, character creation, animating setting, and the logics of storytelling.

"The targets are students and the general public. The number of participants to take part in our virtual talkshows is targeted at1.000," said Mother Nunung who will deliver the opening speech at the training.

"The training via Zoom application with a quota of 1.000 participants and certificates are given to participants who actively participate until the end of the event," said Mother Nunung.
