Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Banjarbaru government established appropriate technology postal services for community empowerment in the field of technology and social economy. 

The introduction of appropriate technology service post was made on the sidelines of a workshop by the Agency for Community Empowerment, Women and Family Planning (BPMP & KB) at Trisakti Hall here on Tuesday. Dozens of students, community representatives and employees of all villages of Banjarbaru participanted. 

"This event is very positive and is expected to motivate people and entrepreneurs in utilizing appropriate technology 
to support their business," said Banjarbaru Regional Secretary Syahriani when opening the activity. 

According to him, the use of appropriate technology has many advantages, besides saving time is also able to increase the production of processed or business carried on. 

"Community development in each sector should be enhanced, including direct them take advantage of advances in 
technology, as appropriate technology is very useful in support of the effort," he said. 

However, according to him, the process of technology transfer to the public has so far been running natural and should be driven through empowerment in various fields. "The process should now be changed, no longer running naturally, but the government facilitated through a variety of activities that can be followed so that the community can empower his abilities," he said. 

As a resource person of the workshop are technology postal service Observer Arief Akbar, Head of the Banjarbaru BPMP & KB Puspa Kencana and Nuri Dewiyanti, an agricultural lecturer from the University of Lambung Mangkurat Banjarmasin.
