Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Electricity network of Batulicin, Pagatan, Lasung and Sebamban, in Tanah Bumbu District, began to be interconnected to Barito system, which is the center of production of Steam Power Plant (PLTU) Asam-Asam, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan.
Manager of PT PLN Kotabaru H Basuki, accompanied by Network Assistant Manager Sigit Wibowo here on Friday said, with a systems interconnection to Barito, there will be no unscheduled outages, except when there is a falling tree hit network.
"Customers will be more comfortable with their interconnections, because there will be no more "byar pet" (outage)," he said.
Customers in the Sebamban, Lasung, Pagatan and Batulicin numbering around 40 thousand, has been served with Pagatan Diesel Generators (PLTD) with a capacity of 12 MW, and PT Meratus Jaya Iron & Steel (MJIS) who supply 5-9 MW.
The interconnection system Barito, Sigit told, supplied 19 MW for their electricity needs from PLTU Asam-Asam which serve the electricity needs for the region of South and Central Kalimantan.
Sigit added, 19 MW of the electricity supply for the people in Sebamban, Pagatan, Lasung, and Batulicin is enough.
MJIS, said Sigit, still can increase the power supply to PT PLN for sale to customers. While fixed PLN will increase the availability of electricity in line with economic growth and industrial development and housing.
