Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Tanah Laut Narcotics Police Unit arrested a man carrying a package of narcotics type of methamphetamine while in a side street in area of waterfall tourist spots in the district.

Chief of Tanah Laut Drug Unit Police, Inspector Alfiando Papona when contacted via cellphone on Tuesday said the arrest of the man stem from people's information. It mentioned, there was a man with some characteristics was carrying methamphetamine from Banjarmasin to the waterfall in subdistrict Bajuin.

As offender characteristics has been pocketed, Narcotics Unit follow-up report . When passing in the village of Ketapang RT 01, Subdistrict Bajuin, police saw a man with the characteristics appropriate information. Immediately, the man was checked and police found a package of methamphetamine in his jacket.

The man known as Amir (37), resident of Subdistrict Bajuin, then taken to the police station for further investigation.

"The perpetrator was checked and found guilty of having and hiding methamphetamine group 1. He is now in the custody of the Tanah Laut Resort Police for further investigation," he told Antaranews.

In the police investigation, the perpetrators admitted buying illicit goods from the city of Banjarmasin and plan it to be used by himself or want to sell it but has not been done yet, because he was arrested by the police.

For the offense, the police entrap him with article 112 of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics with a minimum penalty of four years in prison and fines of up to billions of rupiahs.

"Tanah Laut Police Drug Unit will be ready to eradicate the perpetrators included illicit good trafficking?, and we kept trying that Tanah Laut district is free from circulation and abuse of narcotics," said the man who is Manado origin.
