Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Any police, either Tamtama (enlisted), Bintara (non-commissioned officers) or officer who is found to be backing or protect illegal mining will be dealt with firmly and can even be fired.
South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Brigadier General Machfud Arifin here asserted will curb all illegal mining practices that exist in this province and whoever the person of any company, if caught will be immediately dealt with firmly.
Also he warned police officers not to be dared to do conditioning against illegal mining case or even into
protective action. If proven, it can be processed even ended in dismissal.
The cops whose jurisdiction has many mining should be more active patrolling territorial mining practices to combat
illegal and the evidence seized if found.
"I'm not kidding. I want to eradicate all illegal mining in South Kalimantan. However , if there is a backing of police or their protection, then we will act firmly , even I can do dismissal," he explained.
Machfud asked police continue to conduct raids in the mining areas to give a sense of fear to the perpetrators of illegal mining and if the routine police raid there will be no chance for them to work.
With frequent raids, the mining industry without permisssion will think twice about their activities , so they chose to
withdraw from having to deal with the authorities.
"Do not be afraid to take action against the perpetrators of mining without a permit , if there are police officers who
protect the activity please report directly, then we follow up, if proven we will process, " said the number one police in South Kalimantan.
The community is also expected to cooperate to provide relevant information to the nearest police about illegal mining activity, then the police immediately follow up the report.
