Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Environment lovers of Forum Komunitas Hijau (Green Community Forum) Banjarmasin have returned orchids to their habitat by planting them in the forest.
"We are trying to change the habits of orchid lovers who hunt orchids into the forest, then bring them to village or city to be developed. Now we return orchids in the city or village to the forest," said Mohammad Ary from FKH Banjarmasin, Tuesday (Jan 14, 2020).
In their first unprecendented action of returning orchid to the forest, FKH planted orchids in the forest of Mandiangin peak area of Sultan Adam Public Forest Park, Sunday (Jan 12, 2020).
Manager of Dutch village on the peak area, Komar, assisten them. They planted dendrobium anosmum type of orchid. This species is considered easy to grow and resistant to weather changes and beautiful when flowering.

According to Mohammad Ary, who came with other members, Zany Thaluk, Lisna, Mohammad Dede Rahmatulah, and Uncle Anum, when this orchid has grown well, they will continue with more planting with various species of orchids, thus the area will truly beautiful with orchids.
"Based on the experiences many orchid were taken then developed in the city did not last long, because of their different habitats. So if we admit as orchid lovers, we shoud not do that" he said.
Now, he appealed, just return the orchids in the city and plant them in the forest, especially the Kalimantan orchid species, to beautify the forest in this regional.
