Kapolda: Drug Extends Headquarters

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Brigjen Machfud Ariffin revealed today the headquarters of the circulation of illegal drugs is not only the nightlife scene but also in the neighborhoods even down to the village .

Machfud, after attending the ceremony of Hari Kesaktian Pancasila (Sacred Pancasila Day) at yard of South Kalimantan Provincial Government on Tuesday, said due to drug trafficking has spread to remote, then the role of the community is very important to help eradicate drugs which are corrupting the minds of the younger generation.

"My strength is not in police personnel, but the role of the community in combating illegal drugs," he said.

Machfud revealed, drugs not only impair the mental of younger generation and the community, but it also has to be one of the causes of quite high spreading of HIV/AIDS is in this area.

To reduce the circulation of these harmful drugs, both shabu-shabu, ecstasy, marijuana and some list G drugs, Kapolda asked the public to play an active role, especially in providing information regarding suspicious activity in the surrounding environment.
