PU Socialize Steps Toward Green City

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The South Kalimantan Ministry of Public Works socializing norms, standards, procedures, and criteria (NSPK) field of spatial planning in 2013 to realize the green city of Banjarmasin.

Socialization takes place here two days where 37 participants take part. They are representatives of government, environmentalists, and the Non-Governmental organization (NGO), said committee organizer, Ir Fauzi on Friday.

In socialization, the committee presented two source of spatial and environmental practitioners, both are Firman Afrianto and Ir Juniar Ilham from the city of Surabaya.

During the two-days meeting, the two speakers explain how the two cities in East Java, Surabaya and Probolinggo, managed to be green and clean. They have dialogue of how to achieve Banjarmasin green and clean city like Surabaya.

According to Firman Afrianto, Banjarmasin must be serious and capable of handling the greening of arid environments just like Surabaya, East Java.

Moreover, Banjarmasin will be selected to run the Green City Development Program (P2KH) by the Ministry of Public Works, then there is no other option that it should seriously organize a greener city that more fresher.

He pointed Jambangan village as tourist village. It was a slum village, but because there was a strong desire of its citizen to make it green and beautiful area without waste then it become tourists visit from various countries.
