A local resident, Uncit Ain in Sekandis --with a distance of two-hours journey by speedboat from Kotabaru, capital Kotabaru-- said on Sunday, for 18 years, residents have been waiting for power supply.
To get the power supply, local residents forced to use the generator engine. However, because of expensive cost, not everyone afford. While the diesel generator fuel is hard to come by because it must be supplied from Kotabaru.
"Here the price is Rp10 thousand per liter and diesel is hard to come by, so not everyone can use generators," he said.
In one month, to the use of generators since 18:00 until 23:00, the citizens have to pay between Rp1 million to Rp1,5 million.
Meanwhile, the electric poles come with cables were neglected, so many were broken, collapsed and damaged.
Most of these poles, he added, used by private electricity company (PLS) to drain electric power to homes.
"But the costs to be customer too expensive. Within one month, each customer has to pay Rp900 thousand to Rp1.5 million," he added.
Therefore, not all people can install and be PLS customers. In addition, the power supply of the PLS also often extinguished.
In addition to the subdistrict of South Pamukan, some Other areas in Kotabaru like Sampanahan, North Kelumpang and Central Kelumpang, also experienced power supply problems.
