Assembly Proposes South Kalimantan Highway

Banjarmasin, 14/6 (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) - South Kalimantan DPRD Commission III, which deals with infrastructure development and construction,  proposed toll roads Banjarmasin - Banjarbaru and Martapura (about 45 kilometers).

"The proposal was delivered when they travel to the Directorate-General (Ditjen) of Highways, Ministry of Public Works (PU) in Jakarta," said Ibnu Sina, a member of Commission III South Kalimantan DPRD, before special plenary meeting of the provincial assembly, in Banjarmasin, Friday.

The arrival of Commission III, which was accompanied by the Head of the South Kalimantan Public Works Agency Martinus June 12, 2013 was received by Deputy Director (Head of Sub) Region II Kalimantan Bina Marga Directorate General, Riyadi Limbong.

The proposal, according to Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politicians, because the roads are so congested that there is no possible widening, so the current travel time Banjarmasin - Banjarbaru - Martapura become longer.

"Additionally, the presence of the toll road will support the development of the new road for Syamsudin Noor Airport extension, located in the city of Banjarbaru," he continued.

From that meeting it was revealed, the handling of the allocation of funds amounting to Rp746 billion in 2013, including  "fly over" (the overpass) in Banjarmasin. While DPR-RI is now discussing the state budget, in which there is a change (reduction) of 10 percent on all ministries / agencies, the two periods legislator said.

Similarly, during 2014 to South Kalimantan execise projections that there is a large enough reduction from Rp746 billion to Rp443 billion. The budget reductions, according to the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) PKS South Kalimantan, a challenge for the province

At the meeting, the Ministry of Public Works explained that the condition of national roads in South Kalimantan were the kindest, ie from 850 km of roads along with steady state 98.63 percent, according to Ibnu Sina.
