Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan, (Antaranews Kalsel) - A US excursion ship with 99 foreign tourists aboard will visit Banjarmasin City, East Kalimantan, to witness the province`s culture and tourism objects.
Head of the local tourism and culture service Mohandas Hendro Hendrawan said here on Wednesday that the 99 tourists were now on the way from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, to Banjarmasin.
"Based on schedule, the US excursion ship which is carrying 99 foreign tourists will arrive tomorrow night here," Mohandas said.
He said that in welcoming the tourists his side had made preparations such as setting in order the tourism facilities at sites they will be visiting in the province.
The local tourism and culture service is also preparing transportation means that would serve the tourists during their call in Banjarmasin, he said.
Among the tourism locations which they will visit are the Lok Bintan floating market in Banjar District, the ornament market, including its panning locations as well as its production site and several other popular tourism sites in Banjarmasin.
"We will make use of their arrivals to promote our tourism potentials to attract more foreign tourists from other countries," Mohandas said.
He said that the American tourists were visiting Indonesia under their own plan. They are coming to Indonesia to observe the conditions of a number of regions in Indonesia, including Kalimantan.
The US excursion ship has previously cruised Malaysian regions and continued its voyage to several cities in Indonesia.
South Kalimantan is one of the Indonesian provinces which is rich in natural wealth, apart from its floating market. Its popular natural tourism includes the Loksado natural tourism.
