Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Tanah Laut H Sukamta said the National Committee of Indonesian Youth (KNPI) was a strategic partner of the government, especially with its three superior programs, namely literacy, discussion and action.


"We really appreciate it. We hope that the KNPI will become the government's agent in increasing literacy among the youth in Bumi Tuntung Pandang (nickname of Tanah Laut)," he said.

Sukamta also asked the KNPI to criticize if there was a mistaken policy from the government and to hold a discussion.

"We are ready to be criticized if something goes wrong in policy. I also asked for a classy discussion between Tanah Laut District Government and the KNPI. We all sit at one table and exchange ideas for the progress of our beloved Bumi Tuntung Pandang," he said.

The regent spoke during the inauguration of the Tanah Laut branch executive board (DPD) of the National Committee of Indonesian Youth (KNPI) for the period of 2019-2022 at the building of the district legislative council (DPRD), Saturday (29/6).

The KNPI Tanah Laut Chairman Khusnul Mutakim said, the district executive board is committed to implementing work programs and is ready to cooperate with other youth organizations.

The KNPI Tanah Laut, he said, is committed to support the Tanah Laut District Government program and to criticize when there is government programs needed to be criticized.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Tanah Laut Leadership Coordination Forum, Chairmain of South Kalimantan DPD KNPI Fazlur Rahman and the leaders of Tanah Laut youth organizations.
