Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Class II Immigration Office of Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan, will take firm action against foreign nationals (WNA) who do not have official immigration documents and permits, according to Law Number 6 of 2011.

"One of the decisive actions we take against illegal foreigners is deportation or sanctions against employer companies with imprisonment and fines," said Immigration and Enforcement Section Chief Anggoro Widy Utomo in Batulicin on Thursday.

In handling and supervising of illegal foreigners or who do not have immigration permit the office form a Foreigner Oversight Team (Timpora) involving local governments and private. The team functions to facilitate coordination and exchange of information in monitoring the presence of foreigners.

The immigration authorities had previously given information to the parties concerned Law No. 6 of 2011, so it is expected that the guarantor companies can complete the data and immigration permits of the foreign workers (TKA).

Meanwhile, Regent Tanah Bumbu H. Sudian Noor stated, even though the presence of foreigners is needed in regional development, it must remain vigilant about the negative impacts that may arise, such as illegal immigrants, human trafficking, and cross-border drug trafficking.

"Therefore we agree that the Batulicin Immigration Office involves local governments and private in Timpora by signing a letter of understanding as official legality in the action of the activity," said the Regent.
