Head of the HST Agriculture, Food Crops and Horticulture Agency, Kemat, in Barabai, Sunday, said the plant could be a second potential agribusiness than farming and could be additional income for farmers in the region. One that will continue to be developed is the production of chillies which the result was encouraging, he said.
Body of agricultural extension, added Kemat, will be tasked with introducing new planting techniques that will hopefully make farmers a competitive edge, both in the production or sale. This is part of the effort to make this area as one of the largest suppliers of food production in South Kalimantan.
Previously, HST Regent Harun Nurasid with PKK District Chairman Tintainah Harun Nurasid visit farmers group Bersama Usaha Tani Agribisnid Usaha Karya Tani in the village of Taras Padang, sub-District Labuan Amas.
His visit was to conduct harvest chili gene varieties product of PT Bintang Asia that have been developed by farmer groups. They tested cayenne pepper in an area of 50 meters x 50 meters with a total of 1,700 trees cayenne.
