Abu Ghinan, resident of Jl Nilam, Dirgahayu Urban Village, North Pulau Laut, whose house was flooded by more than one meter on Sunday, claimed the flood disaster was currently the worst in six years.
"Since I live here from 2013, there have been several overflows of water coming into the house, but this time the flood was the worst because the puddle of water not only entered the terrace, but entered all rooms," he said.
The intensity of the rain after Eid was indeed relatively high, but he considers it still within reasonable limits. But the rain that fell from the early hours of the day resulted in a rapid surge of water and a puddle of rising water, then subsided and the water gradually receded.
While the rain continued, the puddles had receded, suddenly around 10:00 a.m. floods were even higher and even entered the entire room of the house. As a result, a number of tools had not been secured were submerged in water.
The same thing happened to Hayati, a resident of Sungai Paring RT 14 in Stagen Village. Her house and other residents' houses were flooded since noon and only receded at around 16.00.
"I went to Banjarmasin since D-2, so there were no one in the house. As a result of the flooding, almost all of the furniture was submerged in water," she said.
Based on monitoring, floods in a number of areas are almost evenly distributed on Pulau Laut, but the worst conditions occur in Gunung Sari Village. Water level to the roof of the house.
