South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani said the voting process in South Kalimantan was conducive during the 2019 election on Wednesday (17/4).


"Thank God, from the report of all the chief of police and the dandim (military district commander), their areas are all safe, or there are no prominent events which have resulted in disruption of public security," he explained.

In addition to receiving the latest reports from his staff, the Regional Police Chief traveled to a number of regions to directly monitor the polling stations (TPS) with Military Resort 101 Antasari Commander (Danrem) Colonel Inf Mohammad Syech Ismed.

The TPS' were visited by the Regional Police Chief and the entourage, namely TPS 2 KBU, Cempaka Urban Village, Banjarmasin, TPS 03 North Loktabat, Banjarbaru, and TPS 01 Martapura, Banjar District.

The Regional Police Chief also talked directly to the polling station working committees (KPPS) officers and found that everything went smoothly without significant obstacles.

"The enthusiasm of the people to exercise their right to vote is also great. This is a matter of gratitude for this year's democratic party to be truly welcomed by the citizens," he said.

The Regional Police Chief also appealed the community would maintain the security and peace after the election.

"For those who win, do not exaggerate euphoria, let alone until the convoy. While the losers, remain loyal and receive it in a knighthood," said Yazid.

To the ranks of the officers in charge he reminded them to remain alert and not be careless by continuing to look at the dynamics of the situation that developed in the field.

Related to the South Kalimantan Regional Police's operational control aid (BKO), which was tasked to securing polling stations to regional units, will be withdrawn as the community security situation is considered to be safe.
