A total of 720 elementary and kindergarten teachers in South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District attended the Education Quality Improvement Workshop, which was opened by Regent H Achmad Fikry.


Representatives from the Adi Luhung Foundation H. Adi Irawan in Kandangan, Monday (18/3), said the workshop had been held in a number of districts and cities throughout Indonesia.

"We have collaborated with the Indonesian District Administration Association (Apkasi) to carry out this activity, and have visited 148 regencies and cities in Indonesia," he said in remarks at the Regency Hall.

He explained, there were three main material given, namely the improvement of teachers human resources (HR), improving the quality of lessons, and increasing iman and taqwa (faith and piety).

Head of the HSS Education Agency Nordiansyah said the participants were elementary and kindergarten teacher in the district. Each school sent two participants.

The workshop lasts 3 days from March 18 to 20, 2019, which is carried out alternately. The second day is for kindergarten teachers, while the first and third days are for elementary school teachers. The event is fully organized by the HSS Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI).

Regent H Achmad Fikry said improving the quality of educators has become a necessity and do not let educators not keep up with the times.

"Education is dynamic, so it will always change from time to time. As educators we cannot remain silent, so we must be able to improve our quality and competence to be able to give the best to students," he said.
