Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Kotabaru legislature stated that a strong commitment of a regional head is needed to make Green Open Space (RTH) optimal in creating a comfortable and beautiful urban environment.
"The city of Surabaya whose mayor has a strong commitment in environmental management and optimization of green open space, thus the results can be felt today," said Chairman of Commission III Kotabaru DPRD Denny Hendro Kurnianto, Friday, on the sidelines of work visits at the Surabaya Cleanliness and GOS Agency.
According to him, a strong commitment is proven by firmness in enforcing policies, from upstream (regulations) to downstream (implementation) in the field.
The policy enforcement carried out by the Surabaya City Government can be seen from the attitude and seriousness of the department or related institutions as the leading sector in urban planning, mature in concept and firm in decisions.
The form of seriousness of the Surabaya City Government in environmental management is to allocate funds relatively large 10 percent of the total local budget.
Asked about the role of the legislature in the arrangement carried out by the government, the PPP politician said that the maximum development in Surabaya were the result of the harmonious relations between the two institutions.
"DPRD as a working partner with its duties and functions synergizes with the city government in making policies. This can be created, because it prioritizes each other's strategic values," he said.
Therefore, he continued, inspired by a working visit in Surabaya, the Kotabaru legislative committee would follow up with the executive in making improvements.
