Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Regent, South Kalimantan, Abdul Wahid realizes his commitment to give a free treatment to all citizens at any referred hospital.
"It needs a strong commitment from the head of the region to be able to free treatment for all citizens, not just contained in the vision and mission," Wahid said in Amuntai Monday.
Wahid signed a Universal Health Coverage (UHC) document with the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) Branch Barabai as the health insurance organizer after a joint ceremony at the HSU government office yard, Monday (28/1).
He said, the number of HSU residents who have registered in health insurance is 231,522 people or 100 percent, of whom 107,117 are registered in the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) program.
The HSU District Government allocates Rp30 billion for medical treatment for its citizens who do not have JKN-KIS by becoming BPJS Kesehatan participants.
HSU District became the third district after Balangan and South Hulu Sungai to sign an UHC cooperation agreement with BPJS Kesehatan.
Wahid asked the state civil apparatus (ASN) to also socialize this free medical treatment, especially for pregnant women to be prioritized, for fear of a problem to be quickly overcome.
Barabai Branch BPJS Kesehatan Director Sugianto explained that medical treatment free at the hospital is for class III, as well as referring to hospitals outside the area till Jakarta.
