Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The State Islamic University (UIN) of Antasari Banjarmasin increased the number of professors to a total of 14 with the inauguration of Prof. Dr. H. Ridhahani Fidzi M.Pd from Tarbiyah (Education) Faculty.
According to the Rector of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin Prof. Dr. H. Mujiburahman, the number of professors on campus is still minimal.
"Therefore, I encourage other S3 (doctor degree) lecturers to become professors immediately," he said at the Open Senate Meeting in the framework of the inauguration of Prof. Dr. H. Ridhahani Fidzi M.Pd at the UIN Antasari Hall on Wednesday.
His party in the rector, said Mujiburahman, will help realize the lecturers to get the status of professors, because the campus requires.
"Currently there are 85 lecturers who have doctoral degrees, as many as 53 who are currently studying S3, and the total number of lecturers we have is 383," he explained.
He also gave motivation that the welfare of the current professors is quite high, so that everything had to be achieved.
"In the past, the professor had a lot of opinions, but a little income. But now, his income has multiplied," he said, the audience responded laughing.
However, he said, what must be considered now, a professor must show quality, because he is a role model for education. "In the overseas campus it's not the chancellor who's famous, but the professor," Mujiburahman said.
Therefore, he said, UIN Antasari wanted to produce more professors who generated a lot of inspiration, gave rise to scientific things in their research, useful for the country and the nation.
"Ideally, 10 percent of our total lecturers will become professors at this time, so we continue to motivate," he explained.
But he stated, all faculties at this university already had professors, except that they did not even, most of them are at the Tarbiyah Faculty.
