Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, received the 2018 Adipura award for the small town category from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
This award was very special for the District Government of who has been waiting it for 15 years.
The Adipura award was handed over by Vice President Jusuf Kalla to the Regent of Tanah Bumbu H. Sudian Noor at the Manggala Wana Bakti Building, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Central Jakarta, Monday.
"This is the first award that is obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Of course it is welcomed by all levels of the local government and all levels of Tanah Bumbu community," said the Regent.
He said, this is the achievement of all levels of society in contributing to maintaining environmental cleanliness, so Tanah Bumbu won the Adipura award in 2018.
The local government has previously intensified the waste bank program with the aim of familiarizing residents not to litter.
Head of the Environmental Agency Rahmat Prapto Udoyo who accompanied the Regent said in 2025 it is targeted to reduce 30 percent of the waste and handle 70 percent so that 100 percent of the waste is managed.
