Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Central Hulu Sungai District Government (HST) through the Population and Civil Registration Agency(Disdukcapil) will issue a Child Identity Card (KIA) for children aged under 17.


Head of Population Services of the Disdukcapil Norman Effendi, when met at his office on Thursday (10/1), explained that KIA is one of the current government programs and its function is the same as KTP.

"Disdukcapil in the near future will immediately budget for the purchase of printing equipment and procurement of blanks related to the issuance of KIA," he said.

The plan is in the first quarter of 2019, the agency as soon as possible realize the KIA issuance. "We hope that, in April 2019, KIA will be able to be socialized and printed," Norman said.

Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued Permendagri No. 2/2016 regulation concerning KIA as an effort to record residents from birth until later are obliged to have electronic ID (KTP-el). KIA by the Government is planned to become one of the conditions for children to enroll in schools. Especially elementary and junior school.
