kandangan - An old woman, Rusmini (66), a resident of Kandangan Kota Urban Village, South Hulu Sungai (HSS), who allegedly drowned, has not been found yet.


Kandangan Police Chief First Inspector (Iptu) Yahya here Wednesday said the search for the victim is ongoing, but her body has not been found yet since she allegedly drowned at about 08.10 a.m.

"The victim in the last was seen by her grandchild washing her cloth at the riverside," he told.

Then there was the testimony of a resident who saw the victim drowning. "There was eyewitnesses from a resident across the river who saw the incident, and shouted there was a person drowning to notify other residents," added the police chief.

Meanwhile, the District Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), volunteers, TNI and Polri, continued to search. The victim allegedly slipped on the rafting while washing clothes.

Head of Kandangan Subdistrict Ronaldy said the current of the Amandit river, the place where the victims had sunk, was now heavy and deep.

"This is me with the Kandangan police chief and the Speaker of the HSS DPRD H Akhmad Fahmi also participated in the search. We hope the victims will be found quickly," he said.

Even the HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry was on the sidelines of his busy taking time to review the search for the victim. The victim is known to have her address at Jalan Pangeran Antasari, Gang Hidayatul Muttaqin, Pulau Sepakat, Kandangan Kota.
