Chairwoman of TP-PKK Batola Hj Saraswati Dwi Putranti, members of Forkopimda (regional leader communication forums), SKPD (government agencies) officials, traders, and various layers of society witnessed the inauguration. The regent and officials then conducted a review of the location.
Wangkang Fish Market is to the east of Pasar Baru Marabahan. The market is specifically for side dishes with a total of 104 rooms. A total of 48 booths for fresh fish sellers, 16 for salted fish traders, 28 rooms for chicken traders and four for beef traders.
Wangkang Fish Market was built to gather all types of side dishes in a healthy and decent place, because they have been selling separately, such as on roadside, even on bridges.
Regent Hj Noormiliyani hopes with the availability of the market there will be no more fish traders selling on the roadside and on bridges.
"God willing, this market is able to accommodate all fish traders including chicken and beef traders," she said.
