Marabahan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Deputy Regent of Barito Kuala (Batola), South Kalimantan, H Rahmadian Noor inaugurated the Ruminansia Animal  Slaughterhouse (RPH-R) in Kolam Kiri Village, Barambai Subdistrict, Thursday (13/12).


The inauguration of the RPH-R was marked by a trial of a slaughter machine to a cow in front of  Deputy Regent H. Rahmadian Noor, Head of the Livestock Agency H Alvian Noor, and other invitees.

"RPH-R in Batola is built in accordance with government regulations Article 62 paragraph 1 of Law No.41/2014 which mandates district/city governments must have slaughterhouse that meets technical requirements," said vice-regent.

He hopes, RPH-R besides being a means of meat production also functions as a community service facility that produces healthy, safe and halal meat.

The former member of the Batola DPRD added the reference to RPH and good and halal cutting procedures is SNI 01-6159-1999 containing several requirements, including location, facilities, buildings, layout, and the existence that does not cause air pollution and waste.

"We make sure the meat produced from RPH-R will be halal, safe and healthy, because before it is cut it must go through medical tests conducted by RPH officers," he explained.

"Generally RPH is managed by the government, but for our region, the private sector is also permitted, like companies, as long as it meets technical requirements and according to applicable regulations," he said.
