Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Ulama in South Kalimantan are concerned about the proliferation of drug trafficking and expect the new police official transferred and promoted to the regions to prioritize drug eradication.


KH Asmuni or familiarly known as Guru Danau conveyed this message and hope when he received the visit of the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Ahmad Arif Sofyan at his residence in the Danau Panggang Subdistrict.

"We support the duty of the police in maintaining order and security, moreover against illegal drugs or narcotics," he said at Amuntai on Thursday.

KH Asmuni said that he often heard information related to drug trafficking which was very dangerous for the younger generation because it had reached elementary school children and Islamic boarding schools.

The charismatic scholar who often holds recitations in various places asked the police not to hesitate to take action against criminals even though they claim to be acting on behalf of him as a cover.

"If someone violates a law impersonating on behalf of me, arrest him," said KH Asmuni.

While HSU Police Chief AKBP Ahmad Arif Sopiyyan said, his visit to KH Asmuni was to improve relations with the ulema in Amuntai.

"We from the police want to form a harmony and establish communication between the National Police and religious leaders," he said.

Ahmad Arif Sofyan, who replaced AKBP Agus Sudaryatno as the HSU Police Chief, also met with other religious leaders and community leaders in a marathon.
